AN/PVS-21

The AN/PVS-21, also known as the Low Profile Night Vision Goggle (LPNVG), is a night vision device known for its reduced protrusion from the face compared to traditional night vision goggles. It was originally developed by Sensor Technology Systems (STS) and later acquired by Steiner, which is now known for manufacturing them. The PVS-21 features a unique design that allows for a wider field of view and better situational awareness, especially in close-quarters combat and high-speed operations. 

The most distinctive feature of the PVS-21 is its low-profile design, which minimizes the distance the device extends from the face. This offers improved maneuverability and reduces snag hazards in dynamic environments. The PVS-21 can incorporate a Heads-Up Display (HUD) system that allows for the projection of thermal images, video feeds, and other mission-critical data onto the night vision image.
