FLIR AN PVS-27 MUNS

The FLIR AN/PVS-27 Magnum Universal Night Sight (MUNS) is a high-performance, clip-on night vision device developed by Optical Systems Technology (OSTI), later acquired by FLIR, for US forces during the Global War on Terror, allowing soldiers to add night vision to existing day optics (scopes) without losing their zero, ideal for sniper rifles (M40, M110, .50 BMG) and carbines for long-range engagements. It uses Gen III image intensifiers, offers high magnification with day scopes (up to 20x), and features a Shock Mitigation System (SMS) for heavy recoil, providing flexibility for medium to long-range precision shooting.

Developed by OSTI (Optical Systems Technology) and later FLIR Systems, the MUNS was designed to meet US forces' needs for effective night operations. It's a larger, more powerful version of earlier clip-on sights (like the AN/PVS-22), providing enhanced performance.
